Waste
I had this for a month and then it died. Didn't even use it enough to empty the shavings cup!

Decent
It doesn't look very stylish - kind of like something you would see on a teacher's desk from the '60's but it works well and is heavy enough that it doesn't slide around when the motor is running. We're putting it to good use sharpening pencils for the entire 1st grade class - hopefully it will last all year and more!

Works great!
My son is in second grade and I was astonished at how many pencils ALWAYS needed sharpening around here. I only had a handheld manual sharpener before, so I was delighted to get an electric model. All my children love sharpening with it. It works well and quickly, and now we have at least some sharpened pencils ready at all times!
