The Ergo-Mat reminds me of positive steering. The mouse goes easily where I want it to and stays there till I move it. It doesn't go skating off on its own like it does on the smooth pads. This gives me better control of the mouse without having to grip it. Gripping the mouse hurts, especially when I'm doing graphics or spreadsheets and other tasks that require mouse accuracy. Because of the slant of the Ergo-Mat, I can rest on the side of my hand instead of on my wrist so my wrist isn't bent backwards and I don't compress the median nerve and the blood vessels.
A review for a mousepad seems ridiculous, but I have to say that I am extremely pleased with this particular mousepad. The ergonomic foam is comfortable, to be sure, but I am most impressed that the pad has three different heights. You can rotate the pad so that you get the right amount of wrist support for YOU. The height differences are subtle, though, so it does not at all interfere with using the mouse. I have noticed less wrist strain and joint cracking since using this mousepad. Highly recommended.
I have very bad carpul tunnel and also peripheral neuropathy and this is, by far, the most comfortable mouse pad. It doesn't have the 'wrist rest' which seemed to add pressure to my wrist area. This pad's memory foam has a sloping design which isn't too high at the high point of the pad and doesn't slope too low at the low point.
I have trouble with carpel tunnel syndrome and need good ergonomics when using the computer. My ergonomic mouse wore out. The Apple mouse I go with my new computer was really hurting my wrist and exacerbating the numbness in my hand. This pad gets my wrist up where it needs to be and allows me to use the mouse I have. I'm pleased.
Excellent wrist support, quality well made product in black, wipes clean easily, non slip backing does not mark nor mar desk, the mouse actually responds better with this pad, good for my arthritis. Well worth the money.
I have carpel tunnel syndrome and was hoping for more support for my wrist to keep it elevated. The memory foam is soft and offers no support. Also, the mouse tends to stick to the foam, rendering it completely unusable for me.
Much improvement over my old flat pad. I was getting a sore spot on the outside of my thumb like I had bruised the bone. After using this pad for a few days, the pain is definitely going away.
.....................good heft, still using a wrist bean bag
