These are a good mid-weight emergency reflective blanket. They are made of mylar basically and work by reflecting heat back to your body to prevent shock or add some extra warmth in emergency or shock prevention situations. Good to keep handy in your pack when hiking or backpacking and keeping one in the car is good too. I bought these in bulk to add to homeless kits that our church small group has organized. They are a nice addition to help the homeless with colder weather needs when their blankets aren't quite warm enough.
