I bought this trash can, because it was very nicely designed, and it looked like something that would be so convient, which it is, it holds a lot of trash, which is less trips outside for me, which is great, and the best feature is, it's hands free, just go near it, with the motion of your hands and it opens, less germs, which was the number one key for me in buying it. I think anyone who is not sure about the item, because it is different, than their normal trash, take my word, it's a dream, for your kitchen, especially if your hands are dirty from cooking! I say you have to try it! You will never go back to plastic trash cans again!

We purchased these trash cans so we could separate our recycling from our trash. The trash cans look great and hold a lot of trash. I've received lots of compliments from guests at our house. I would highly recommend these trash cans. I did a lot of research before I purchased them and it is a really good value!

A friend had an auto trash can and all the guys at the house party spent so much time playing with it. I got some for family as Christmas presents and they just love them! The cans work well, you have enough indication that the batteries are going dead to get more so you're not stranded. The opening is a little small but I've had mine in daily use in my kitchen and no issues or frustrations. You get so used to auto trashcans that you wait for other people's cans to open when you're visiting them. And it's really cool.

We purchased this item because we have a very curious puppy who just cannot keep himself from the trash. Problem is now solved. The dog is a bit afraid of the cans due to the soft wooshing sound they make when opening and closing. Overall, appearance is sleek and they are quite convenient in the kitchen. I do believe that the cans are very successful in reducing garbage smell that can arise when you are fighting with whose turn it is to take out the garbage. Worth the money. Arrived in perfect condition.

I shopped around for a long time before making this purchase. I am very pleased I did. These cans are high quality and priced way below the well known big box stores. I love the sensor function and they have worked well for some time now.

Very nice trashcans. The sensor is a little hard to get a response at times, but I have owned them for 2 years and I would still purchase them again. The batteries do not wear out too quickly and I like how the bag is hidden inside the trash can.

I have been using these touchless trash cans for over three years and love them. I wouldn't go back to using the step-on lid type of can. I go to friend's homes and find myself waving my hand over the trash can to get them to open! I had to buy another one for our winter home in AZ. Try it - you'll like it!

We got these about 2 years ago and still love them. They arrived in great condition, and look nice next to our stainless fridge.

I do like these cans. The only problem with them is that they require replacement batteries rather often (maybe I should get better batteries) and they fly open at unexpected times: when a curtain blows over it, when the cat swats the top of it, etc. They are rather gimmicky, but fun and an attention getter for guests.

I am so pleased with these trash containers. I use one for trash, the other for recycles. They are good size: too large to put under the sink, but not so big that they look obnoxious. With how many times everyone uses the trash cans, it made sense to spend a little more for one that works better than average.

Love it, very easy to operate and understand. Also easy to empty. Came with a plastic piece that supposedly fits around the opening to hold the bag,but the piece did not fit. No matter, the bag holds fine without it.

I purchased my 1st Touchless trash can probably 5 years ago for close to $100 but it was worth every cent. Recently it started making weird noises and I realized it was growing old... but its service had been flawless. I didn't relish spending another $100 but also couldn't be w/o this trash can!!! So, not only was it a surprised that Overstock had it, but I could get two!! and the cost of the shipping made it even sweeter. My last concern was... it this JUST like the one that was dying????...yep!!!.... the same one! The old one went to the laundry room, the other new one will go to the Fl. house and this one...well were back to perfectly quiet operation in the kitchen and no messes! I do have some recommendations: put the front part of top lid on first, then the back; the ring inside to hold the trash liner molds itself to the inside so put it back the same way each time; I use a large rubber band [bought at grocery store] around the top of ring to hold bag in place so it doesn't slip and lastly don't push hard to compact stuff as the bag and ring will slip out of notch and fall... otherwise enjoy many faithful years of service.

I love the trash cans, but one has already gotten a small dent in it. But still a great value for the price. One of the units did come in slightly dented from shipping. But the dent was small and in the back - so I just kept it rather than going through the hassle of the return process.

using them for about a month now. I really like these cans. My husband was worried that the sensor would not read the movement but besides the sometimes few second delay to open they work great. I recommend not putting them in a high traffic walk areas because you will get tired of them opening for no reason besides you walking by. (it happens to me and all i think about is if Ill be replacing the battery sooner). The battery is not a big deal. Each take 4 "d" so 8 batteries cost $10. So far so good.

I ordered the 2 trashcans for my recycling items and can tell you that I defintely bought a bargain! The cans work beautifully too. I have a small kitchen but I found a niche for them and they are perfect. I drink a lot of Diet Coke and my boyfriend crushes the cans and puts them in one can and everything else that we recycle goes into the other one. We cash in our cans so that is why we have separate cans. They are very pretty (for trash cans!), durable, and the automatic opening & closing feature is marvelous! I would recommend them to anyone that wants a modern, clean looking trashcans for recyclables or anything that they might use it for. Just one can in other shopping spots are the same price or higher and I received 2...If you don't need 2 of them then give one as a gift, I promise the recipient would love it!!

I got two for the price of one so shared with my daughter in law. Her family loves it!! In fact, she says every time my son uses it, he giggles. Guess it's one of the few gifts that has impressed him. My only "wish I could change it" would be the way the bag goes in. I know I can hang it over the edge, but it shows. It's not really that big a deal to put the retainer in, it's just that it takes a little more time. It is so nice not to have to worry about my hands touching it when they are full of avocado or something equally as messy.

Love these - we got two, one for trash and one for recycling and they fit in the space formerly occupied by one big trash can. The touchless open feature is great too. Really easy to put together, easy to operate, sturdily made and nice looking.

i have had these 2 cans 1 for general household waste and the recycle stuff. the odor is maintained in the cans and it's easy to throw out the 13gal bags into the outdoor garbage pail. my kitchen looks neater and the cans complement my decor. for me this was a good purchase.

They both work fine and we love them. The delivery time was very timely.

This trashcan is the best! It is a hot topic of conversation at any gathering. I'm on my 3rd and 4th ones now (1 in kitchen and other in home office). They are very sturdy. In my experience, Overstock's price has been significantly lower than the local outlet store price in Southern California.
