Early today, postings for video game consoles being advertised for very low prices starting appearing, linking to overstock. On the Overstock site, the prices were shown as "Today Only" on the discounted bundles. After ordering, I received a confirmation for the order, but a few moments ago, received a cancellation notice for the order, citing a pricing mistake. I understand that price mistakes are under the ToS, but how is this different than a brick and mortar store advertising a product at...
Posted 07/14/11 12:41 PMLike some of the posters said... one item price mistake is acceptable, when tons of items had price mistakes - I think it is intentional. I have not brought any thing from O since 2005, I had two orders canceled on me with 3 different items on it. I believe it is a scheme that they used to advertise themselves (for free). Sorry that I wasted my time on this "scheme" as everyone else had... I am sure its the last time I dealt with this site.

Some of you are probably the same ones who were commenting on the Woot link "I wonder if they'll just cancel the orders", which means you KNEW that the pricing was wrong. Did Overstock make a mistake? Obviously, but you all knew it was a mistake when making your purchase. Don't pull this "I thought it was a legitimate price" stuff. No one sells a brand new Wii bundle for under $9! The items were all mark...

I ordered the Dragon Age 2 Signature Edition for Xbox360 though Overstock. They shipped me the standard editon. They were not even selling the standard edition when I purchased it, yet they just changed my order details to show I purchased standard, but I have a print out of my order showing it was the Signature Edition. If you check, they still can't figure it out, and are displaying signature edition covers in the item pictures. At least they removed it from the title lol. I am going to respond with my email, and see if they have another solution besides a return, which I doubt will be the case. Amazon, save us, why did I ever stray? (Oh yea, because Overstock confrimed, and promised something Amazon couldn't....
Posted 03/18/11 08:05 AMI too had the same issue. They pulled a good old bait and switch with a whole bunch of people. I too should have ordered from Amazon. Overstock let me keep the regular edition and refunded me the difference in price, but not the shipping. They, in my opinion, should have done alot more, since I too lost out on the items you get from the Signature Edition. They left the pic up of the other one for over a week after my issue, I feel sorry for all the other people they roped in with it. One...
Posted 03/19/11 08:19 AMHappened to me as well. Preordered the Signature Edition. Even my e-mail confirmation says Signature Edition, but they shipped me the regular version. I contacted customer service, and was told they have no more Signature Editions. I was offered either a $10 credit towards my next purchase or return for full credit. I returned it and am still waiting for my credit. Last time I will be preordering a game from Overstock, that's for sure. Should have stuck with Amazon.

I contacted customer service via chat to get the $6.62 back for the shipping, and they were quick to refund me that. Just wanted to make anyone else aware that is going through the same return... I'm sure there are many of us. Also, I'd like to give an open thank you to EA. I had contacted EA asking if there was any other way to get the Signature Edition extras, explaining the whole preorder...
Posted 03/31/11 10:25 PMI opted to return the game, then find a Gamestop that had pre orders not picked up. I luckily found a signature edition for both PS3 & 360, got the 360 edition. I send my copy back to Overstock within a day or two. Almost a month later I hadn't received any refund. Find out their crack staff continues, they received my game and somehow didn't manage to issue my refund. 16 days later, if I hadn't checked they probably would never have. Seriously?!! What is the best PC game for 2010?

Posted 11/11/10 08:11 AMStarcraft 2 is definitely up there. But I think World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is going to be incredible. If you like MMORPGs, it's definitely the best one out there, and the new expansion is going to completely change the entire game.

I bet somebody (who hasn't been stuck at work all day) has already seen it live....unless blizz is having an 'extended patch' day or something. (*shrug*, I haven't been checking the forums or anything today.) Last I heard, a guildie friend was still five digits deep in the d/l queue.
Posted 12/28/10 01:57 PMSigh! Sadly, I cannot play WOW currently, due to the fact that we just added a baby to the house (he's kind of high-maintenance. Who knew?). But if you've got the time, I'd give this game a shot at least. They've really updated the user interface and made it easier to be a casual player, but still have a lot of fun.
